ECLKC is your free resource. ECLKC is the acronym for Early Childhood Learning & Knowledge Center. This learning center creates resources for any person who works with or has children ages zero to five. And it's ALL FREE.
The website is maintained by the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) and the Office of Head Start. It's created for Head Start teachers and families BUT anyone can use what is on the website. Obviously, the sections about program management aren't going to be applicable to the standard caregiver but some of these sections would certainly be useful.
- Caring for Children with Disabilities - webinar series about inclusion, 15 minute tutorials about shifting aspects of teaching for the child with special needs, and a newsletter are just a few things.
- Family Engagement - information, guides and tips for creating stronger partnerships with the families. There are many resources that have an emphasis on father resources.
- Health and Wellness - an entire section with health resources which includes oral health, mental health, nutrition and more.
There is a newsletter you can sign up for which gives you links to all of the new resources put on the website.
