#gimmefive for Fresh Fruits and Vegetables Month

June is Fresh Fruits and Vegetables month which is a GREAT time to take the First Lady up on her #gimmefive challenge!

I am going to take on the #gimmefive challenge by trying 5 new ways to prepare or serve fresh fruits or vegetables.  I am a creature of habit - I think it's a good time to try something new.  Will you join me?

Throughout the month ChildCareInfo.com will post tips and ideas for different ways to prepare or serve fresh fruits and vegetables and I will post my own adventures during the #gimmefive challenge.  I have a very picky toddler, a 10 month old and two adults who are in a fruit/veggie rut! (Full disclosure - I'm not a very skilled cook either!)

I'm not going to promise success but I am going to promise to try!

I hope you'll join me as I try new ways to prepare fresh fruits and vegetables in the month of June #gimmefive!  Share your experiences in the comments of the blog posts, Facebook comments or just send them to me and I will share it for you: samantha@minutemenu.com.

If you use the #gimmefive hashtag don't forget to use #childcare and #cacfp too so everyone knows what great work child care providers are doing serving fruits and veggies.

Samantha Marshall, M.A.

Samantha is, just like you, excited to make a difference in our community and our world. With a Master of Arts degree in English Literature, you might ask how she found herself building and writing for a website focused on child care. From 1995 through 2001, Samantha started her career working for Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) sponsors which introduced her to the importance of non-profits, community and quality child care. Her experience with Sponsors, State Officials, and Family Child Care Providers left a great and lasting impression. Later in her career and her most recent position at SAGE Publications, an academic publisher, was as a product manager for a new online resource! During this time many of Samantha's passions collided. A love for the written word, children and the proliferation of knowledge as well as a fascination with the resources the internet gives us, building a community for child care on ChildCareInfo.com is the perfect way to make the difference she wanted to. Needless to say, she is very excited to be an active part of creating and building ChildCareInfo.com.
