National Association for Family Child Care Providers - Conference for 2011 Scheduled!

The National Association of Family Child Care Providers' (NAFCC) mission is to "promote quality child by care strengthening the profession of family child care." 

A few of the many ways accomplish their mission is by:

  • Providing an accreditation program that encourages a warm, safe and educational environment for children to thrive in.  A provider that is nationally accredited by these standards can assert that he or she is a high quality program accredited by a nationally recognized program.
  • Providing online trainings, webinars, onsite trainings and articles for your business by well respected individuals such as Tom Copeland.
  • Hosting a conference for family child care providers and supporting organizations to learn from each other and network.
  • They also work with NACCRA for the Provider Appreciation Day.

Conference Details

NAFCC has announced its conference date which is July 21-23 in 2011 in Las Vegas, Nevada.  There are more details to be released regarding schedules and speakers but start saving now!
NAFCC has even put together a layaway program to help you plan and save for the conference, you  have to be a member to participate NAFCC Conference Information.

The NAFCC's website is under construction but as they note on their homepage, soon enough NAFCC will have a website that will be easier to navigate.  Until then the accreditation process, conference information, training center and business resource center have some awesome resources just for you, Family Child Care Providers!

Samantha Marshall, M.A.

Samantha is, just like you, excited to make a difference in our community and our world. With a Master of Arts degree in English Literature, you might ask how she found herself building and writing for a website focused on child care. From 1995 through 2001, Samantha started her career working for Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) sponsors which introduced her to the importance of non-profits, community and quality child care. Her experience with Sponsors, State Officials, and Family Child Care Providers left a great and lasting impression. Later in her career and her most recent position at SAGE Publications, an academic publisher, was as a product manager for a new online resource! During this time many of Samantha's passions collided. A love for the written word, children and the proliferation of knowledge as well as a fascination with the resources the internet gives us, building a community for child care on ChildCareInfo.com is the perfect way to make the difference she wanted to. Needless to say, she is very excited to be an active part of creating and building ChildCareInfo.com.
