Creating A Facebook Page for your Non-Profit Agency

Go to Facebook.com

  • Click on "Create a Page" for a celebrity, brand or business (beneath the green sign-up button)
  • Choose Company, Organization or Institution
  • Pick "not-profit organization" in "choose a category" drop down
  • Type in your company name and agree to the terms
  • Type in your email address (or you can use your existing account), password and birthday
  • Confirmation email will be sent, although it takes a bit

  • Upload your Logo (or if you don't have one the CACFP apple or something that represents what you would like it to)
  • Tell your fans:  You can import your providers, your colleagues, fellow sponsors, etc
  • Post Status updates
  • If you have a website, promote your Facebook page on it (Facebook provides a code to embed in your website for the like button)
  • If you want to tie it to your phone you can do it here to
  • Fill out your Basic Information
    • You can be as detailed as you'd like and add as much information as you'd like (the more detailed the more it will  help people find you and use your FB page)
  • Featured: after you begin liking pages, you can make certain ones featured
  • Apps: you can add additional items to your facebook page -- will make it easier for you to interact and provide value to your facebook fans
    • Some neat ones are Networked Blogs, Causes, Polls and more
